Welcome to the EAA 839 Website

We are Chapter 839 of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Learn about our activities and the impact we’re having on our community. You’ll find links to our photographs and videos. We have several activities taking place at our home, Pegasus Airpark in Sciota, PA.

April to October is our barbecue season. We have a noon barbecue every 2nd Sunday (weather permitting). We get the word out to the entire aviation community, and planes fly in from all over the region. It’s a lot of fun; and the food is really good!

In the Young Eagles program, we take young people (ages 8 to 17) who are interested in aviation for a short plane ride. The Eagles program is similar but for those older that 17. We take school teachers for a flight under our Pilot’s and Teacher’s program.

Our newest program is Kids Building Airplanes. We are currently teaching 14 young people how to build an airplane. We choose an all wood, single person plane called the MinMax EROS. We now have a waiting list.

Chapter members gather one evening every month to watch a half hour of aviation videos, then talk about their airplanes, projects, visits to airshows and anything else aviation.

If we cancel any event, we will announce through any or all of these: Facebook, Twitter, this site and/or the mail list. See the Links above to participate in any of those.
